Thoughts From Our Spiritual Director

On Wednesday evening the incredible talents of Lisa Ferraro and Erika Luckett melded into an indescribable expression of Spirit. Individually each one is a bright Soul. In synchronistic union they open the gates of Heaven. They moved through our one hour "Music and Meditation" plucking the strings of the guitar with deft genius, all the while vibrating the strings of our hearts with intuited words and inspiring songs. We were deeply honored by their Presence, and are filled with gratitude.
Last Sunday during our morning Celebration these two gems of talent provided the underlying texture for an experience that took us to the heights of excitement and to the stillness of our Souls. As I led us through our service, the Holy Spirit opened me up and sacred words of Love, compassion and joy flowed from my lips. The bright Souls that filled our Chapel all participated in the heightened awareness of Christ, and our hearts joined together in the experience of the Oneness.
Music that touches our Souls and cracks us open in remembrance of what we really are, the Love of God, is an essential element in our Spiritual journey. A few years ago Lisa Ferraro looked at me in all seriousness and proclaimed, "You know, David, music is the most important part (of the worship experience)". I returned a questioning look, and she quickly followed up with, "And the lesson!"

Music in the Spiritual experience is important. That is why we are so fortunate to have the enormous talent of Donna Greco as our Music Director. Donna recently returned from the National Unity Music Conference at Unity Village, MO, and is energized to bring us the very best in the New Thought genre and beyond. Donna is a piano virtuoso. At her urging we have just acquired a brand new Yamaha electronic piano. This beautiful instrument has the touch and sound of a sophisticated grand piano. It also has the capacity to produce an almost infinite array of tones and rhythms.
Donna has been working with our song leaders and we all have witnessed the expansion of talent and Spiritual expression. She has brought a Soulfulness to our music program that continues to nurture and inspire. She is attracting world-class singers, most recently by inviting Etta Cox to join us on November 7 and December 5. We in group consciousness invite and attract the likes of Lisa and Erika, Donna Maria Cary, and Lew Doty.
This is because of your bright intentions to experience a deep and personal relationship with your God-Self. It is because of your continued support of our work of awakening the awareness of Christ that allows us to continually improve all aspects of our worship experience. Come this Sunday and enjoy the latest upgrade, a beautiful Yamaha keyboard that will fill our Chapel with the luscious sounds of Spirit, manifesting as the extraordinary talent that is Donna Greco.
